Parent Meeting – Our next parent meeting will be held on Sunday, August 19th during the Sunday school hour. At this meeting we will be providing you with an open forum, an opportunity to help us mold this youth ministry into one that meets the needs (and fits the schedule) of this congregation. We are open to creative suggestions if you are willing to be part of the answer. We will also cover other youth information and confirmation information and registration.
Confirmation -If you have a youth who will be in 7th grade this school year or a youth who has not gone through confirmation but would like to, we will begin our annual confirmation (not conformation) classes for youth and their parents on Sunday, September 9th. These classes will be conducted every Sunday from 9/9 through 11/11 from 9:30 – 10:45 am. The youth will be meeting in Bain Hall and the parents will meet in the Multi Media room on the third floor of the Hunter Building. A confirmation registration form is available in the flash widget to your left. Please register your youth on or before Sunday, September 2nd.
Confirmation ex-cons (confirmation mentors) – Confirmation Mentors (ex-cons) play an intergral part in encouraging our newest youth to stay active and take personal responsibility for their spiritual growth. We call them ex-cons because they are ex-confirmands, older youth who are there to help walk with them through the process and be there should these youth have things they want to discuss with someone who is older, yet someone they can relate to. Since this is a very important position any 10th thru 12th grader who is an active participant in the youth ministry needs to fill out an application (available in the flash widget to the left) and turn it in by Sunday, August 19th.
